For 2015, The Airush Varial-X has undergone a slight design change, bridging the gap between high-end performance and everyday riding. This is a great step up from the Airush Lithium if you’re looking for more performance boosting, wake style and in the waves.
The 2015 Airush Varial-X will not fly like your previous models. Customers have loved the prior editions of the Varial-X but have been looking for the low-end power the Lithium delivers. We’ve had the pleasure of testing the 10m in 12-25 kts of wind and man did they knock this design out of the park. This kite actually has a tad more power then the 2015 10m Lithium but the performance it has maintained makes it a great intermediate- advanced kite. On a 5’9 surfboard I’m 170 lbs and could stay upwind in the Ocean in as little as 12 kts. This is due to the power maintained in the kite through the fastest turns.
The SL-C (Supported Leading Edge) design is dedicated to riders who want the most out of a 4-line kite. The SL-C delivers a C-shaped arc which delivers quick turning with direct response while still maintain easy re launch capabilities not found in a C kite.

Poly Load Frame (PLF):
Much like the Aramid Load Frame used in 2015 Airush Team kites, the Poly Load Frame uses a different material to achieve the same results. Poly Load Frame is a polyester fiber that is strategically sewn along the canopy of the kite to prevent stretching throughout the canopy. Not only will this increase the longevity of your Airush kite, it creates a solid connection panel to panel to retain the kite's shape while turning.
V3 Bridle System: The bridle system is the key to Supported Leading Edge (SLE) kites and by combining the V3 with 2015 Airush Kites it has delivered a bar feel that is light but responsive even when depowered and gives the kites enormous ranges of depower.
Ocean Extreme Sports recommends this kite to riders looking to step into a kite with more performance, faster turning and more power to jump. This kite is great boosting but still works very well as a wave kite.
