In St. Augustine, most kiters stay between the Matanzas Avenue beach ramp and the Mary St. Beach ramp. When the tide is 1 hour after high through low tide, Matanzas Inlet is a great flat water spot, be careful of the current, many things get swept out that inlet so know your skills.
In Jacksonville, Huguenot State Park offers a lagoon for flat water and the Atlantic for wave riding. Huguenot is one of the few great spots to ride on side off surf conditions but you must have experience. The "pond" is great for beginners and is fairly shallow and rideable on most wind directions but could be gusty so beware.
Kite safe and please respect others on the beach, each summer it seems more and more people are visiting NE Florida so remember to give yourself plenty of space to safely launch and land your kite and remember, sometimes it's just not worth it. Fly safe- Ocean Extreme Sports.
